This thing destroys the newest ACID test. FF3 is amazing. It is pretty close to the speed of RC1, minus the glitches. I have yet to fish a bug out of it. This thing absolutely SCREAMS.

It does worse than Safari at ACID3. I got 74% with Saf 3.1 and 71% with FF3

It is really fast indeed, I just wished I had saved my favourites before installing Thought it'd import them...and now I can't remember half of them

I finally got it, yet to install. In the mean time I was getting pissed off at FF2 running slow and started using Opera 9.21 which made me realise what fast is again. Well I'm gonna go install FF3 and see if it passes my old test of opening 500 ningin.com tabs and still be able to switch tabs ok.

Am I the only one who hates tabs inside a browser? I've turned them off because you can't alt+TAB between them. So annoying...and ironic.

You're right! You can't, but coincidentally, you can CTRL+TAB through them. Funny them shortcuts.

Or you can try Exposé for Firefox:

Meh.... I tried it, didn't appeal enough to me. I usually only deal with 1-4 tabs, and never have exceeded 5. So, the CTRL+Tab works well enough for my ends.

It's, in the end, a matter of e-taste. My e-life has been "revolutionised" by easyGestures but I've seen many people struggle with it, so I understand perfectly that people don't like it or it's not an improvement for them (as is the case for you if you only have 4 tabs, though I think that these tools make your UI experience much smoother and consistent). It's the same with Exposé (even in MacOS X), objectDock, Vista's Flip 3D or other new UI tools (take a look at the incredible Beryl 2.5d interface).

The Vista Flip is kind of cool, but gesture computing is so much cooler. I was telling a few of my tech monkeys about a gesture and touch system we have at the california development lab. The thing is INSANE. It uses 4 servers that are all 2U units, and 6 x 30" custom touch screen LCD monitors with anti static technology. The engineers use it. No pictures, because they are not permitted beyond the 2nd sealed corridor of the lab facility due to micro static discharge. 3rd stage I have rarely been to, and requires full air tight "space suits." I have had the privilege of wearing that suit twice, and only for about 15-20 mins. I have been in the level 2 lab a lot, and I look like a surgeon in the outfits. It is pretty awesome. Gesture computing is the future, and it is a bright one.

Yeah, I agree, but it'll only happen when "common-sense" input devices will appear (expensive and strange at first, then people will get used to them). We're getting closer to this with 3rd mouse buttons becoming common and accepted, and people easily accepting smart/fun interfaces on their mobile phones/PDAs (iPhone FTW!). And there're real cool and cheap Wii hacks:

You may also have seen before us nVidia Tegra:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/u...es/225184.html

Anyway, what you've experiences sounds really cool, but it's like discussing about the GTX280 2 years ago, it does not make any sense to the common man who is techno-neutral and only want non-intrusive techno. But I love it like you .

Further thoughts: beasts like the GTX280 actually make stuff like Beryl possible and smooth on the desktop and push for nicer, much more organic 2.5D/3D UIs in future OSs. So thanks for that Anyway, the future of computing is INSIDE the webbrowser with Software-as-a-Service and things like googleOS ... which brings us back nicely to the topic

There already are. I'm using Aero Fox atm, very very nice black skin. Just search the add-ons department on advanced and search for the right version

Installed and FF3 is great! It didn't die even with 700 tabs open did let me scroll the tabs but didn't display them that fast. It still let me open my massive bookmarks list. And it made sensible use of memory paging to virtual memory and allowing me to have 60 tabs open on Opera at the same time <3. I didn't dare open more than 700 tabs because they took 20+ minutes to all load lol. If you wonder why I ever bothered to have so many tabs open I used to be the CR Manager for ningin.com and the Mixr Media network, and had a lot of posts to read, comment and bugs to find.

Pusing ctrl + 1-9 will also select a specific tab, that's what I use when I have more than two or three open.

Just installed mine last night. It's pretty good, a lot faster than FF2 and safari. I installed it over FF2 as well so all of my bookmarks and plug-ins get tranfer over to FF3, which is ace in my book.
